Dr Olugbenga Timo Oladinrin

Associate Professor and project investigator, UK

Dr. Oladinrin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS). He obtained his PhD in Construction Project Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, and master’s and bachelor’s (First class honours) degrees in Quantity Surveying from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. Currently, he is an Associate Professor (Teaching & Research) at the School of Art, Design and Architecture, University of Plymouth. He has a strong track record of research outputs in top refereed journals. He has successfully secured some competitive research grants from funding bodies in the UK. His research areas include construction ethics, construction innovation, sustainable construction, construction health and safety, new working practices, construction and demolition waste management - circular economy concept, and quantity surveying practices, with a passion for gender equity in the construction industry.

Prof Abimbola Olukemi Windapo

Professor and Principal Investigator (South Africa)

Abimbola Windapo is a Professor of Construction Management, at the University of Cape Town, with more than 34 years of experience in practice, teaching, and research in the construction industry. Her research is interdisciplinary and focuses on construction industry development, construction business and project management, infrastructure delivery management, practices and performance. She is the University of Cape Town Spoke contact for the ARUA Centre for Unemployment and Skills Development and the Urbanization and Habitable Cities in Africa. She is a Distinguished Associate of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the recipient of several awards, including the prestigious NSTF-South32 Engineering Research Capacity Development “Science Oscars” and the Best woman in African Construction 2021 Award.

Dr João Alencastro

Lecturer & Co-Project Investigator (UK)

Dr Alencastro is the Programme Lead and a lecturer and researcher in the Built Environment department of the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Plymouth. Previously, he was a lecturer in the School of Architecture at Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) and in the School of Civil Engineering of UNIVALI (Brazil). Originally trained as an Architect and Urban Planner, Dr. Alencastro has a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and a Master Degree in Construction Project Management and PhD in the area of Construction and Quality Management. In the recent years his research is focused on project management, quality management and their relationship with the energy performance of buildings. In addition to his recent academic role, he has over 20 years of experience in the construction and manufacturing industry. He has published academic papers linking the areas of project management, quality management, energy performance and construction technology.

Dr Muhammad Qasim Rana

Senior Lecturer & Project Co-Investigator, UK

Dr. Muhammad Rana is a full-time academic tutor and a leading researcher at UCEM. During the last four years, Dr. Muhammad Rana has won several research funding grants totaling up to £600k from the Innovate UK, Qatar National Research Fund, British Council, Harold Samuel, Salford University, Highways England, and CIB on various topics of Sustainability, Gender Equality, Off-site Construction, Energy Efficiency, Water Management, and Environmental Resilience. Dr Rana is currently leading 3 British Council funded Projects on Gender Equality in Brazil, Pakistan and Vietnam. He has previously delivered similar 3 projects in Jordan and Egypt sucessfully.
